With their Girl Scout leaders, girls team with one another to implement their own troop activities, based on their interests. In addition to helping girls take ownership of their experience, Girl Scout leaders ensure all activities are grade-appropriate and based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, as well as on the Girl Scout Promise and Law. They encourage each girl to express her feelings and ideas in this all-girl, girl-driven environment and to build leadership skills through the girl/adult planning approach. Parent's GuideA Parent's Guide to Girl Scouting is published each year by our council and has lots of very helpful information for parents. The guides are distributed to leaders through the service unit. If you do not receive a guide, ask your leader for one.
